Slowing It Down

It’s occurred to me that I’ve had a wordpress account for a while now and have yet to post anything on it. These things tend to happen and as you get to know me better you’ll understand why. Generally though, I try to keep the content coming.

So ironically enough my first true post to wordpress will be to tell you that i’m going to take a Social Network break for a while. Doing this reminds me of the part in the Dan in Real Life where Dan tells Marie that he’d call just to say he’s not calling (by the way if you are looking for a good movie to curl up to, laugh, and fall in love with the characters than definitely check it out).

My point of doing this is to come back to being Golden and truly thankful for the many blessings I’ve been given. About 3 or 4 years ago I did a personal experiment where for a summer I connected myself to as many social networks and tried to keep them as up to date as I could. Overall I most of the summer with over 25 different social networks. What I wanted to get out of it was does one person really need to be connected to multiple social networks and if so which ones worked best. This time around I want to head in the opposite direction.

I’m not sure if I want to just slow down with my connectivity to various social networks or to totally go off the grid. Personally I would love to just drop off the grid, but with my various commitments I may need to make exceptions here and there. Whichever I do choose to do though, I plan on posting vlogs to my YouTube channel just to post progress. Also, I just feel like doing something more with my YouTube channel then just have it to watch YouTube videos.

So for the next week or so I will be slowing it down. Scaling it back. Going native. My goal is to re-open my eyes to the world to see it in a different perspective. To come closer to my walk with God. To gain a greater gratitude for the many things I have been blessed with.

Wish me luck!
